Associate Product Manager- Bioprocess Division
Millipore is a leader in providing products and services to the biopharmaceutical industry. By 2010, Millipore we intend to be recognized as the leading global bioprocess and bioscience products and services company. We are looking for a highly-motivated and talented Assistant Product Manager to join our BioProcess Product Management and Marketing team. The position is based at our worldwide headquarters in Billerica, Massachusetts in the USA.
You will work within our Downstream Processing Product Management group to provide support across product lifecycle activities, with specific responsibility for systems, processes and communications. This includes supporting tactical marketing plans ensuring short and long-term sales and profits for assigned products or product lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in marketing activities related to new product development and launch.
• Assist in the preparation of customer needs surveys and the analysis of resulting data.
• Create new product catalogue and part numbers in the enterprise management system.
• Prepare product documentation and submit updates to Product File
• Prepare sales collateral and support materials.
• Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking.
• Assist in the coordination of field trials.
• Support the preparation and communication of responses to customer inquiries
• Prepare and execute customer notifications support the preparation of product line information that assess and monitor quarterly performance.
• Participate with departmental management and the sales team in the review and implementation of the market plan for the assigned business area.
• Support the preparation of reports to periodically assess performance of product lines; and the preparation of information for annual product line reviews.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Marketing, Science or Business.
• The required skills, knowledge and abilities are typically acquired through a minimum of 2-4 years sales and/or marketing environment.
• Ability to multitask and deliver results in a fast paced and challenging environment.
• Firm understanding of basic marketing concepts such as product life cycle and product positioning.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully work with internal and external customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to create and present materials appropriate to the level of audience.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and team-oriented environment. Experience with project management preferred.
• Ability to understand, analyzes, and interprets scientific and technical journals and basic business reports preferred.
• Prior work experience/internship in the biotechnology industry and a familiarity with biotechnology, biological processing and regulatory requirements preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of personal computer software in a business environment including Microsoft Office and database systems.
• Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 20%. Foreign language (French) a plus.
