Meeting Overview:

This session will discuss some of the key elements to consider when planning your clinical development project as well as a lessons learned process to assess your teams performance. Lessons Learned and the ability to avoid classic mishaps are essential to have your team perform at a high level, achieve success and ensure staff fulfillment. Please join us for two speakers who will share their experience and insights into this practice.

Presenters and Topics:

  • Larry Blankstein, Ph.D., Senior Director, Clinical Research, Genzyme Corporation

This presentation will discuss the importance of lessons learned and when it should be done. It will present a tool to help collect information to ensure the lessons learned are based upon accurate information. A number of examples will be presented where the tool was used to collected data so lessons learned on global, CRO and regional studies could be developed. It will also provide us an opportunity to share how different organization (sponsor and providers) perform lessons learned.

  • Paul R. Bunch, PhD, PMP, Vice President, Project Management & Clinical Operations Americas Clinical Development Services Covance

This presentation examines not only classic mishaps common to clinical trials, but also offers real life, actionable approaches for how you can avoid adding your trial to the illustrious list of trials that didn't turn out quite as planned...

There may be no ultimate, accurate list of the classic mistakes that put trials at risk. The list may be longer than ten. However, in this session highly experienced operational speakers from Covance and Genzyme share extensive operational experience to not only diagnose but also cure and indeed prevent much too common problems.

Have your own top 10 list? Or your own approaches for how to keep trials on track? Bring them to this session and join what promises to be a productive, positive and entertaining discussion!
